History of Luang Prabang

An ancient capital where prayer and life thrive

Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995

Luang Prabang is an ancient city in northern Laos where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers meet. It flourished as the capital of the Lansang Kingdom from the 14th to the 16th century, and even after the royal capital was moved, it was cherished as a center of Buddhist culture. The town is a unique combination of temples with multi-layered roofs, traditional wooden houses, and buildings from the French colonial period. In 1995, the townscape that harmonized tradition and different cultures was recognized and was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The lives of the people that have been passed down to this day are still alive in the morning almsgiving and market activities. Visit the Royal Palace Museum, Wat Xieng Thong, and take a leisurely stroll along the riverside streets to discover the charm of this ancient city where faith and daily life intertwine.

Travel schedule

Daily departures from Narita, Kansai, Chubu, and Fukuoka airports from February 1st to September 30th, 2027. We will make arrangements according to the flight date and connecting flight.

DAY 01

Japan → Hanoi → Luang Prabang

From each airport in Japan to Luang Prabang on the same day via Hanoi. Upon arrival, we will guide you to the hotel.

Morning in the ancient capital and the world heritage town

Early morning, alms visit and morning market walk. After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Wat Sieng Thong, the Royal Palace Museum. After lunch of local Laotian cuisine, free time.

DAY 03

Free time until departure

After breakfast, free time until departure. Go to the airport according to the flight time. Transfer from Luang Prabang to Hanoi and connect to Japan.

Late night departure from Hanoi → Japan

The date changed and we departed from Hanoi after midnight. Arrive at each airport in Japan early in the morning. Disbanded after completing immigration procedures.

Meals:2 breakfasts, 1 lunch (local Lao cuisine), no dinner. Drinks with meals are not included.

Aircraft:From Japan to Hanoi, Vietjet Air or Vietnam Airlines. From Hanoi to Luang Prabang, fly with Lao Airlines or Vietnam Airlines.

Information:There will be no accompanying tour conductor. Local Japanese language staff will guide you regarding sightseeing and transportation. Vehicles and guides accompanying you during free movement are not included. The itinerary will be adjusted depending on closed days and flights.

Go to Luang Prabang via Hanoi. At the airport, a local Japanese representative will meet you and guide you to your hotel.

For 1 person participating, the fee is 1.8 times (rounded to the nearest 1,000 yen) the travel fee for 2 people on the selected airline/hotel. This includes the cost of a single room and will not be added up. Late check-out and extended stay will be charged separately, and student discounts will be reflected after calculation. The minimum number of participants for the entire tour is 2 people.

If you apply within 22 days of departure, please pay the full travel fee by the pre-departure deadline specified by the company.
