LANDSCAPE, VILLAGES & LIVING CULTURE
From Ha Giang, head north along the mountain road. Quản Bạ is a region of limestone mountains, fields and ethnic minority villages. Look out over the valley from the Tianmen Gate, walk along the paths of Nam Dam Village, and visit the handicrafts of Rung Tam.
In Nam Dam village, where the Dao people live, you will see houses with rammed earth walls and experience village life. At Rung Tam, we saw linen textiles handed down by the Hmong people. This is a journey to trace the culture behind the scenery with a local Japanese speaking staff.
Cuamba is a region name and is included in the Dong Van Rocky Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. The name of the park is not "Cuamba National Monument". This tour will take you through the geopark's scenery and villages where people live.

TWO VILLAGES, TWO TRADITIONS
On the second day, we went to the Cuamba area of the Dong Van Rock Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. We plan to trek for about 1 hour and 30 minutes in Nam Dam village in the morning, and about 1 hour around Rung Tam in the afternoon. Private vehicles are used to travel between villages.
Mainly Dao people
A walk through the village following the mud-walled houses, the eaves, and the paths through the fields. Local staff will guide you through the culture that is alive in daily life, such as the construction of houses and embroidery.
Mainly H’Mông
To the area around the textile cooperative in Hợp Tiến village. Depending on the situation, we will observe Hmong handicrafts such as linen thread making, weaving, and indigo dyeing.
Distances and travel times are approximate based on routes from central Ha Giang to each destination. The total distance and time required for a day visiting two villages differs. The process you can see in the workshop depends on the work situation on the day. Ethnic costumes vary depending on the region, daily life, and festivals, and there are cases where multiple ethnic groups live in one village.

THE VILLAGE WALK
An overseas trek where you walk along village roads, observe mud walls and fields, and listen to stories from local officials. In the Cuamba region of the Dong Van Rock Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, we will combine a morning and afternoon village walk with a workshop tour and outlook.

In Cuamba, you will enjoy spending time walking along the trails of the countryside and experiencing the lifestyle and culture of the Dao and Hmong people.
Mountains, rice fields, and roadside flowers. Pay attention to the scenery, wind, sound, and light that changes depending on your walking speed.
We look at the texture of mud walls, the eaves, and the connection between fields and houses, and become interested in the local housing and daily activities.
Listen to the stories of the local Japanese language staff and learn about the background of housing and lifestyle habits. Differences between regions and villages are also discoveries made during travel.
Greet people you meet on the street and exchange words depending on the reception situation. We value the time spent by residents at work and in their daily lives.
Observe the scenery and houses in the mountain village and capture memories of your trip in photos. Before photographing people or the inside of a house, permission must be obtained from the local staff.
Enjoy the process of walking with your friends, taking time to take breaks and admire the scenery. Please tell the staff if you are concerned about your physical condition or walking.
Tours of places and houses, including mud-walled houses, will be arranged according to the local acceptance situation. We do not guarantee that you will be able to tour the inside of the house or interact with residents.
Travel for the purpose of trekking and hiking is also subject to the safety guidelines for mountain climbing tours. Please check the difficulty level, walking time, road surface conditions, and necessary equipment, and decide whether it suits your physical strength and experience. This tour has a difficulty level of "medium" and the second day's trekking is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in the morning and approximately 1 hour in the afternoon, totaling approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (excluding break time and workshop tour time). The ease of walking will vary depending on the weather and road conditions, so please follow the instructions of the staff on the day.

From Narita, Kansai, Chubu, and Fukuoka airports, fly to Hanoi with the airline of your choice. Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you will be greeted by a local Japanese speaking representative and transferred to your hotel in Ha Giang in a private vehicle for tour participants. We will take bathroom breaks along the way.

Morning: Trekking for about 1 hour and 30 minutes in Nam Dam village.
With a local Japanese speaking staff, you will walk along the paths along the mud-walled houses and fields where the Dao people live.
Afternoon: Trekking around Rung Tam for about 1 hour.
After lunch, drive to Rung Tam by private car. We will walk around Hop Tien village, where the Hmong people live, and also visit a linen weaving workshop. In the evening, return to your hotel in Ha Giang.

After breakfast at the hotel, take a walk around Ha Giang according to the departure time. After lunch, we will head to Noi Bai Airport by private car. A local Japanese-speaking staff member will guide you to see you off at the airport.

After the date changed, I took a return flight from Noi Bai Airport to Japan. On the return trip, the group will spend the night on the plane, and will disband after arriving at each airport in Japan on the same day.
The above is the planned itinerary. Distance and time are approximate based on route and road conditions, and travel time on the second day does not include time for walking or visiting the workshop. The order of visits, walking route, and tour schedule will be adjusted depending on the weather and local acceptance situation. Cuamba is a region name and is included in the Dong Van Rocky Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. The name of the park is not "Cuamba National Monument". This trip combines mountain views, village walks, and visits to traditional workshops.
In Nặm Đăm, you can experience mainly the culture of the Dao people, and around the Hop Tien village of Lùng Tám, you can experience the culture of the Hmong people. The main attractions are the mud-walled houses of Nam Dam and the linen fabrics of Rung Tam. We do not commit to festivals or wearing specific ethnic costumes.
Difficulty level is "average" (as a guide for this tour). On the second day, we plan to trek for about 1 hour and 30 minutes in Nam Dam village in the morning, and about 1 hour in the afternoon around Hop Tien village in Rung Tam, for a total of about 2 hours and 30 minutes. The walking distance is approximately 2-3 km in the morning and 1.5-2 km in the afternoon, and the elevation difference is estimated to be approximately 50-100 m in the morning and 30-50 m in the afternoon (approximate model course before on-site confirmation). Breaks and workshop tour times will be set separately. There are slopes and unpaved roads, so please wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. You will travel between villages by private vehicle. If you are concerned about walking, please contact us in advance.
If you would like to tour the inside of a house or take pictures of people or the workshop, please obtain permission from the local staff. The work that can be observed depends on the situation on the day. Please respect the village life and work and do not enter fields or private land without permission.
A tour conductor from Japan will not accompany you. A local Japanese speaking representative will meet you at Noi Bai Airport and accompany you until you return to your home country. We use a minivan exclusively for tour participants, and if there are a lot of people, we use a Ford Transit van.
Basically 2 nights at De La Mont Hotel Ha Giang. Changing to Four Points by Sheraton Ha Giang costs +20,000 yen/person (2 people participating, 2 people in 1 room, 2 nights). Additional single room is 20,000 yen/person at basic hotel and 30,000 yen/person in Four Points (for 2 nights). For single rooms at Four Points, a hotel change fee and additional single room fee will be added. Sharing a room is not possible. For odd number of people, an additional charge for at least one single room will be required. Additional night charges will be quoted separately.
