13:00
Long Bien Bridge & Long Bien Station (about 15 minutes)
Built in 1902 during the French colonial era, Long Bien Bridge withstood bombing during the Vietnam War and is still a symbolic bridge in Hanoi used by trains, motorbikes, and pedestrians.
Long Bien Station and Hoa Xa Cafe across the street are great spots for taking pictures as you can see the trains up close!
There will be no trains passing through Long Bien Station at this time, but please explain the history of the bridge. If you go to the back of the ticket office at Long Bien Station, you will find an exit (stairs) leading to the old town. I think it would be interesting to show them the back alleys as well.
13:30
Old town and market walk (about 60 minutes)
Walk to Ô Quan Chưởng, Thanh Ha market, and Dong Xuan market!
*In case of rain, you will need to drive between Long Bien and Donghemen.
◆O Quang Truong (Donghemen)
The only city gate in Hanoi's Old Quarter, built in 1749. Located on the east side of Thang Long Citadel, it was once one of the 21 gates protecting the capital.
◆ Thanh Ha Market
A traditional wet market crowded in the alley leading from Donghemen to Dong Xuan Market. Enjoy the cityscape full of life.
◆Dong Xuan Market
Hanoi's largest market selling local miscellaneous goods, ingredients, and clothing.
15:00
Cyclo to Hanseatic Market (about 10 minutes)
Ride a cyclo, a three-wheeled human-powered taxi, to the Hanseatic Market. It also looks great in photos.
15:15
Hanseatic Market (about 40 minutes)
Shopping time at the pottery market where affordable Batchan ware is lined up.
There are many Bat Trang Yaki shops in Hansa Market, and it's easy to get lost in them, but Mai's shop is recommended by a Japanese living in Hanoi.
16:00
Tran Truoc Temple (about 30 minutes)
A temple floating on West Lake. It is the oldest temple in Hanoi and was selected as one of the 20 most beautiful temples in Asia by National Geographic in 2019.
17:30
Em Hanoi (about 30 minutes)
A stylish select shop run by a Japanese owner.
Hanoi residents stop by this shop to buy souvenirs from Japan. We have miscellaneous goods selected from a Japanese perspective, so you can find souvenirs that will make both the buyer and the receiver happy♪ *As we are closed on Mondays, we will direct you to a different location.
18:30
Walking to Bia Hoi “Hai Som”
Enjoy local beer and Vietnamese dinner at Bia Hoi Hai Som. Bia hoi is a Vietnamese-style beer garden. It's always crowded with locals because you can enjoy drinks and food at reasonable prices. Experience the daily energy of Hanoi with your entire body!
